HB 127: CONSUMER PROTECTION – Adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding disclosure of artificial intelligence communications.
Adds new section 48-603H to Idaho Code making it an unfair trade practice to use AI chatbots or agents in consumer communications without clear disclosure that they are not human, when likely to deceive. Provides private right of action for consumers ($1,000 statutory damages), AG enforcement ($10,000+ penalties), and effective July 1, 2025.
