HB 162: EDUCATION – Repeals and adds to existing law to require school-sponsored Bible reading.
Repeals existing law and enacts the 'School-Sponsored Bible Reading Act' requiring daily Bible readings from King James, New King James, or Revised Standard versions in all Idaho public school classrooms without comment. Provides accommodations for objecting teachers and students, with private right of action for enforcement. Effective July 1, 2025.
