HB 174: MOTOR VEHICLE TOWING – Amends, repeals, and adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding motor vehicle towing.
Repeals and replaces Idaho Code Chapter 18, Title 49 with comprehensive regulations for towing and storage of motor vehicles. Establishes uniform statewide procedures for vehicle abandonment, removal (stolen, accidents, roadside), notification requirements, tow company authorization, fee limits, hearings, and an abandoned vehicle trust account. Effective January 1, 2026.
