HB 176: MEDICAL EDUCATION – Amends and adds to existing law to revise provisions regarding medical education programs supported by Idaho state funds and to provide for WWAMI program transition.
Revises residency requirements for special graduate programs, updates contract obligations for state-supported medical students including reimbursement fund, ends new WWAMI slots after 2026-2027, requires State Board of Education to designate at least two new medical education programs for Idaho students starting 2027-2028 with majority clinical placements in Idaho.
