HB 183: CRIMES AGAINST PEACE OFFICERS – Amends existing law to provide penalties for assault, battery, or murder of a peace officer.
Amends Idaho Code sections 18-915 and 18-4004 to increase penalties for assault/battery and murder of peace officers. Establishes mandatory 15-year fixed term (up to life) for crimes against peace officers and raises minimum confinement for peace officer murder from 10 to 35 years. Named 'Bolter-Stall Defend the Defender Act.'
