HB 187: PROBATION AND PAROLE – Amends and adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding advisement to certain probationers and parolees regarding conditions of probation or parole.
Establishes mandatory advisement for felony probationers and parolees that they waive 4th Amendment rights and consent to warrantless searches by probation/parole officers and peace officers at any time. Requires written agreement; refusal disqualifies from probation/parole. Prohibits harassment searches. Effective July 1, 2025.
