HB 197: EASTERN SNAKE PLAIN AQUIFER RECHARGE – Amends and adds to existing law to provide for the diversion of water for aquifer recharge purposes.
Requires the Idaho Water Resource Board to divert all available water under its recharge rights to the Eastern Snake Plain Aquifer until the annual recharge goal of 350,000 acre-feet is met or the aquifer is declared stable by the Department of Water Resources Director. Declares an emergency with effective date of July 1, 2025.
