HB 209: EDUCATION – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding library directors.
Amends Idaho Code sections 33-2607 and 33-2608 to revise provisions regarding city library trustees' powers and library director appointment processes. Allows city councils to optionally designate library directors as city employees hired/terminated like other city staff, while maintaining board oversight in default cases. Declares emergency effective July 1, 2025.
