HB 239: EDUCATION – Amends and adds to existing law to establish provisions requiring permission for instruction addressing human sexuality.
Requires parental permission for any instruction addressing human sexuality in public schools. Expands definition of 'human sexuality' to include sexual orientation, gender identity, and related topics. Provides alternative instruction for opt-out students and legal remedies for violations. Effective July 1, 2025.
