HB 24: ALTERNATIVE ANIMAL PROTEINS – Adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding alternative animal protein labeling, oversight, and penalties.
Establishes labeling requirements for alternative animal protein products including lab-grown meat and insect proteins. Requires clear front-of-package disclosures, specific ingredient listings, and authorizes Idaho Department of Agriculture enforcement with civil penalties up to $500 per violation. Effective July 1, 2025.
