HB 261: COUNTY JAILS – Amends existing law to revise a provision regarding per diem costs of state prisoners in county jails.
Amends Section 20-237A, Idaho Code, to increase per diem reimbursement rates paid by the Board of Correction to counties for housing state-sentenced prisoners from $55 to $150 for the first 7 days and from $75 to $200 thereafter. Declares an emergency with retroactive application to January 1, 2025.
