HB 307: ELECTIONS – Adds to existing law to provide that the Secretary of State shall investigate false claims against candidates.
Adds new Section 34-221 to Idaho Code requiring the Secretary of State to investigate verifiably false claims published against candidates during election campaigns, provide response time to publishers, and post findings online. Effective July 1, 2025.
