HB 369: TAXING DISTRICTS – Adds to existing law to require taxing districts to hold a hearing and provide certain notices to taxpayers before increasing the budget from property tax revenue from the previous year.
Requires taxing districts to provide specific newspaper and mailed notices, hold public hearings after 6:00 p.m., and comply with detailed transparency requirements before increasing property tax revenues beyond prior year's certified budget (exempts districts under $1M). Declares emergency.
