HB 37: METHODS OF EXECUTION – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding methods of execution.
Revises Idaho Code §19-2716 to make firing squad the primary method of execution, with lethal injection as backup if firing squad unavailable. Director of Corrections determines method availability within 5 days of death warrant. Effective July 1, 2026.
