Idaho Capitol Watch
HB 402: TRANSPORTATION – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding documents that may be used to prove identity and citizenship status.
Revises Idaho Code sections 49-305, 49-306, 49-307, 49-318, 49-2443, and 49-2444 to expand acceptable proof of identity and citizenship for driver's licenses, permits, and ID cards. Allows unexpired passports and other government-issued documents when birth certificates unavailable. Declares emergency effective July 1, 2025.
