HB 458: EDUCATION – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding the requirement for safe public school facilities.
Amends Idaho Code 33-1613 to strengthen safe public school facilities requirements, mandating annual inspections for safety codes, radon/mold/lead testing, abatement plans, parent reporting, fines up to $5,000 for reporting violations, and whistleblower protections. Emergency clause effective July 1, 2025.
