HB 473: MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT – Adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding law enforcement entering into a memorandum of agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Mandates all Idaho law enforcement agencies to apply for a Section 287(g) memorandum of agreement with ICE to perform immigration enforcement duties in jails or as warrant service officers. Agencies unable to secure agreements must publish explanations of their efforts. Effective July 1, 2025.
