HB 488: ANNEXATION BY CITIES – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding costs associated with the annexation of certain property by cities.
Amends Idaho Code Section 50-222 to revise city annexation procedures, requiring 60% landowner parcel consent and 50% area consent, detailed notifications, public hearings, and written plans. Protects non-consenting landowners from mandatory city water/wastewater services. Applies to annexations after July 1, 2024, effective July 1, 2025.
