HB 49: SAFETY AND PRIVACY – Adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding safety and privacy in certain covered entities and to provide for remedies.
Adds new Chapter 11 to Title 20, Idaho Code, requiring covered entities (correctional facilities, domestic violence shelters, juvenile centers, public buildings, state educational institutions) to designate multi-occupancy restrooms, changing rooms, and sleeping quarters for exclusive use by biological females or males. Provides private causes of action for violations. Effective July 1, 2025.
