HB 86: BUILDING CODE – Adds to existing law to prohibit laws that require electric vehicle charging stations or parking spaces in any building plan and to provide for preemption of local laws and ordinances.
Prohibits state and local governments from requiring electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, designated EV parking spaces, or related infrastructure in building plans. Provides statewide preemption over conflicting local ordinances. Declares emergency clause for immediate effect.
