SB 1001: UNIFORM PUBLIC EXPRESSION PROTECTION ACT – Adds to existing law to establish the Uniform Public Expression Protection Act.
Enacts the Uniform Public Expression Protection Act (anti-SLAPP law) adding new Chapter 39, Title 6 to Idaho Code. Provides special motions for expedited dismissal of meritless lawsuits targeting protected speech, with stays, hearings within 60 days, attorney fee awards, and broad construction to protect First Amendment rights. Effective January 1, 2026.
