SB 1021: TERMINATION OF A PARENT AND CHILD RELATIONSHIP – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding conditions under which termination may be granted.
Amends Idaho Code §16-2005 to revise conditions for terminating parental rights, clarifying procedures for children in DHW custody to enable faster permanency through simultaneous adoption when parents consent. Prohibits termination based on immunization status and includes protections for parents with disabilities. Emergency clause effective July 1, 2025.
