SB 1035: CONGREGATE CARE – Amends existing law to revise provisions regarding the placement of a child in congregate care settings and to provide for regular review of placements.
Amends Idaho Code §16-1619B to regulate placement of children in congregate care settings, requiring court notification within 7 days, director approval for children 12 and under with specific exceptions, biweekly approvals for non-qualified placements beyond 2 weeks, and comprehensive safety/treatment reviews every 14-90 days based on facility licensing status. Effective July 1, 2025.
