Idaho Capitol Watch
SB 1042: RENTAL APPLICATIONS – Adds to existing law to provide for limitations on rental application fees.
Limits rental application fees to no more than two concurrent applicant households per unit. Requires units to be available within 60 days (with exceptions), disclosure of tenant criteria, and actual background checks. Fees limited to actual processing costs. Effective July 1, 2025.
