SB 1043: LANDLORDS AND TENANTS – Amends and adds to existing law to remove a provision regarding coverture and to reorganize a chapter.
Reorganizes Idaho landlord-tenant code in Title 55, Chapter 3 by redesignating sections and consolidating key provisions. Adds explicit prohibition on local government rent control and federal housing program mandates. Removes outdated coverture reference from eviction procedures. Declares emergency effective July 1, 2025.
