SB 1048: EDUCATION – Adds to existing law to establish provisions to ensure freedom of inquiry in higher education.
Prohibits Idaho public institutions of higher education from maintaining DEI offices, officers, trainings, bias reporting systems, or requiring DEI-related courses for degree programs. Adds new section 67-5909D to Idaho Code enforcing color-blind admissions/hiring, with AG enforcement and private right of action. Effective July 1, 2025.
