SB 1087: MEDICAL RECORDS – Adds to existing law to require the provision of copies of medical records in certain circumstances.
Requires health care providers to provide one free copy of patient medical records (including mental health records) for documented Social Security disability claims/appeals within 30 days, with exemptions for small independent providers (<50 employees). Effective July 1, 2025.
