SB 1099: MANSLAUGHTER – Amends existing law to revise a provision regarding a penalty for vehicular manslaughter and to provide that the court shall inform a defendant of certain information regarding sentencing.
Amends Idaho Code sections 18-4007, 18-8005, 18-8006, and 18-8004A to establish mandatory minimum prison terms of 5-10 years for vehicular manslaughter by repeat DUI offenders and require courts to inform DUI defendants of these enhanced penalties. Declares emergency effective July 1, 2025.
