SB 1101: CORONERS – Amends, repeals, and adds to existing law to revise and establish provisions regarding the duties of county coroners.
Revises county coroner duties, establishes medicolegal death investigation standards, defines key terms including 'forensic pathologist' and 'human remains', adds requirements for death investigations, and repeals coroner deputy appointment provisions. Declared emergency effective July 1, 2025.
