SB 1141: STATE GOVERNMENT – Adds to existing law to establish provisions regarding a ban on unauthorized public camping or sleeping.
Establishes statewide prohibition on public camping or sleeping on public property in Idaho cities with populations of 100,000+. Prohibits cities and single countywide highway districts from authorizing such activities. Provides exceptions for designated recreational areas, state lands, commercial vehicles, and rest areas. Authorizes Attorney General enforcement with civil penalties up to $10,000 per violation. Effective July 1, 2025.
