HB 495: DENTURITRY – Amends and adds to existing law to consolidate provisions regarding denturitry licensure.
HB 495 transfers regulatory authority over denturitry from a standalone board to the Idaho State Board of Dentistry. The bill expands the dentistry board to include a prosthetics expert, repeals the prior Denturitry Act, creates a new licensing chapter with education and exam requirements, defines the scope of denturist practice, prohibits certain procedures, requires insurance coverage for denturist services, and sets fees and disciplinary rules. It is projected to save the state $33,600 annually and takes effect July 1, 2026.
