This legislation amends Idaho Code Section 54-1208 to require the Idaho Board of Licensure of Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors to create and administer an open-book jurisprudence exam on Idaho-specific property law for surveyor licensing applicants. The exam ensures surveyors understand state laws to help protect property owners from boundary disputes and litigation. The bill passed both chambers unanimously, was signed into law, and took effect July 1, 2026. It has no fiscal impact on state or local governments.
