HB 550: MIDWIFERY – Amends and adds to existing law to provide for a licensed midwife to obtain and administer medication indicated for maternal care or neonatal care if a midwife possesses requisite education, training, and experience.
Expands licensed midwives' authority to obtain and administer medications for maternal and neonatal care based on their education, training, and experience. Revises rulemaking for drug protocols, maintains strict scope of practice limitations, nullifies specific administrative rules, and declares emergency effective date of July 1, 2026.
