HB 557: COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS – Adds to existing law to provide for uniformity in local government antidiscrimination ordinances.
Adds new Section 67-5913 to Idaho Code preempting local governments from enacting antidiscrimination ordinances that exceed state law protections in employment, housing, education, and public accommodations. Provides enforcement through Attorney General injunctions and private civil actions with damages and attorney fees.
