HB 612: SOLAR – Amends and adds to existing law to exempt portable solar generators from public utilities.
Exempts portable solar generation devices (≤1,200 watts, UL certified) from interconnection, net metering, utility approval, fees, and liability. Revises public utility definition to exclude them and updates residential solar disclosure act to exempt these devices. Effective July 1, 2026.
