Idaho Capitol Watch
HB 700: UNAUTHORIZED ALIENS – Adds to existing law to establish provisions prohibiting the unlawful employment of unauthorized aliens.
Creates new Chapter 28, Title 44, Idaho Code, making it a misdemeanor for employers to knowingly hire or continue employing unauthorized aliens. Provides E-Verify compliance as an affirmative defense. Effective July 1, 2026.
