HB 701: HOUSING – Adds to existing law to provide for limitations on rental application fees.
Adds new section 55-316 to Idaho Code limiting rental application fees to no more than two applicant households per unit, requiring available units or consent for waiting lists, disclosure of screening criteria, and completion of checks. Fees must relate to actual screening costs. Effective July 1, 2026.
