HB 856: PROTECTION OF GRAVES – Amends existing law to prohibit certain acts regarding graves and to provide exemptions.
Amends Section 27-502, Idaho Code, to strengthen protections for graves by prohibiting willful disturbance, possession, sale, or display of human remains and artifacts; expands exemptions for law enforcement, medical professionals, museums, and research institutions; establishes felony penalties and seizure procedures. Effective July 1, 2026.
