SB 1264: RURAL HEALTH TRANSFORMATION – Adds to existing law to establish the Idaho Rural Health Transformation Fund and the Rural Health Transformation Committee.
This bill creates the Idaho Rural Health Transformation Fund in the state treasury to hold federal rural health transformation grants and any legislative appropriations. It establishes a nine-member Rural Health Transformation Committee (four senators, four representatives, one non-voting gubernatorial appointee) to oversee fund use, review projects, require sustainability plans, receive reports from the Department of Health and Welfare, and recommend appropriations consistent with the federal plan. The committee must include rural district members and sunsets after funds are expended. The bill passed the Senate 25-10 as amended and was transmitted to the House where it has been referred to the Health and Welfare Committee.
