SB 1316: HEALTH AND SAFETY – Amends existing law to revise provisions for exemptions for certain tests for infants and newborns.
Amends Idaho Code Section 39-907 to broaden exemptions from newborn screening tests for infants, allowing religious, philosophical, or conscientious objections by parents/guardians, or medical exemptions certified by a physician. Declares an emergency with effective date of July 1, 2026.
