SB 1343: JUDGES – Amends existing law to provide that certain judges shall not be eligible to serve as a senior judge and may not elect to receive certain retirement compensation.
Amends Idaho Code §1-2001 to prohibit judges who file for re-election after July 1, 2026 and retire before term end from serving as senior judges or electing enhanced retirement compensation under subsection (2)(b). Requires candidates to acknowledge this restriction. Exceptions for prior elections or incapacity. Effective July 1, 2026.
