Idaho Capitol Watch
SB 1369: PLACE OF TRIAL OF CIVIL ACTIONS – Adds to and repeals existing law to establish provisions regarding place of trial for certain civil actions.
Repeals existing Idaho Code § 5-404 and adds a new section establishing venue rules for civil actions, primarily in the county where the cause arises or defendant resides, with exceptions for non-residents, insurance cases, and corporations. Declares emergency effective July 1, 2026.
