SB 1397: WASTEWATER CORPORATIONS – Amends and adds to existing law to provide when wastewater corporations may be a public utility.
Amends Idaho Code Title 61 to define 'wastewater system,' 'wastewater service connection,' and 'wastewater corporation.' Brings certain wastewater corporations under Public Utilities Commission regulation, exempting small systems with fewer than 100 connections. Revises public utility definition to include wastewater corporations. Effective July 1, 2026.
